EHE Venture Studio has joined Sustainable Ventures’ ecosystem to establish a new base inside Manchester’s Renold Building - the heart of the £1.7 billion Sister innovation district. The move marks a major step in EHE’s Northern expansion and deepens its commitment to scaling AI enabled startups by embedding directly into one of the UK’s fastest-growing innovation ecosystems.
The partnership brings together two venture-building powerhouses with a shared mission: supporting founders solving real-world challenges through technology, investment and operational expertise. Sustainable Ventures offers flexible workspace, event facilities, and a thriving community of over 1000 climate and deep-tech innovators. providing the perfect environment for EHE to continue growing its hands-on studio model in the North West.
“Manchester is quickly becoming the beating heart of UK innovation, and we want to be right at the centre of it,” said Guy Remond, Co-founder of EHE Venture Studio. “By moving into the Renold Building, we’re embedding ourselves in a community where founders, investors and innovators collide every day. That’s how companies scale faster – and that’s why this move matters.”
EHE’s venture studio model combines capital with in-house product, engineering, and growth expertise, offering founders a full-stack pathway from idea to scale. The move strengthens the reach of EHE’s (S)EIS AI Growth Fund and its work as an Innovate UK Investor Partner, giving Northern founders easier access to both capital and tech support.
EHE and Sustainable Ventures are coming together to strengthen support for even more AI-first climate tech businesses, including existing EHE portfolio members such as NeuWave Technologies and FOTENIX.
“Bringing EHE’s venture studio model into the Renold Building supercharges what we’re building here - a genuine launchpad for the next generation of sustainable and deep-tech companies,” said James Byrne, Partner at Sustainable Ventures. “This partnership gives Northern founders both the space and the support they need to turn bold ideas into global businesses.”
EHE and Sustainable Ventures will roll out a series of founder-focused initiatives in the coming months, which will aim to connect early-stage entrepreneurs with the investors, mentors, and operational support they need to grow faster and more sustainably.
Originally opened in 1962 as part of The University of Manchester’s North Campus (formerly UMIST), the Renold Building has been reactivated as a flagship innovation hub within the Sister district including Sustainable Ventures northern hub and received Grade II listed status in 2025. Today, it serves as a focal point for Manchester’s growing technology and science ecosystem – uniting founders, researchers, and investors under one roof.
